THE MUMMY RETURNS
Offscreen Voice: 5,000 years ago a fierce warrior known as the 1)Scorpion King led a great army on a campaign to conquer the known world. After a vicious campaign which lasted seven long years, the Scorpion King and his army were defeated and driven deep into the sacred desert of Ahm Shere.
One by one ,they slowly 2)perished under the scorching sun, until only the great warrior himself was left alive. Near death the Scorpion King made a pact with the dark god 3)Anubis that if Anubis would spare his life and let him conquer his enemies, he would give him his soul. Anubis accepted his offer and spared his life. Anubis gave the Scorpion King command of his army, and like an evil flood they washed away all that lay before them. When his task was done Anubis forced the Scorpion King to serve him for all time.
His army was returned to the sand from whence they came, where they wait silently to be awakened once again.
Scene 1:
1933, Egypt.
Evelyn and Rick are exploring the mysterious ancient tomb with their eight-year-old son Alex.
Evelyn (Throwing away a viper): Go away.
Rick: Those are poisonous you know.
Evelyn: Only if they bite you. What was all that about?
Rick: Oh nothing. Alex wanted to show me something. I swear the kid gets more and more like you everyday.
Evelyn: What do you mean? More attractive, sweet, and 4)devilishly charming?
Rick: No. That's driving me crazy... now where were we?
Evelyn: (Gives Rick a tiny hammer and chisel) Hammer and 5)chisel. (Then changes for a shovel) Oh alright, alright, alright. Let's do it your way.
Rick: Thank you.
(Then Rick chisels the door open.)
Evelyn: Ever since I had that dream, this place is all I can think about.
Rick: Ever since you had that dream, I haven't had a 6)decent night sleep.
Evelyn: I feel like I've been here before... I know I've been here before.
Rick: Baby nobody's been here before, not for at least 3,000 years, (Looks at some skeletons beside) except for these guys.
(Evelyn opens a door skillfully.)
Evelyn: You know how I seem to know exactly where I am going. That's the 7)emblem of the Scorpion King. He is supposed to be pure myth, no... no trace of him has ever been found before no... no 8)artifacts no 9)archival evidence.
Rick: Maybe they didn't want anybody to find him.
(Evelyn finds the box with the bracelet in it.)
Evelyn: Let's open this?
Rick: Evy, I don't know. I don't have a real good feeling about this.
Evelyn: It's only a chest, no harm ever came from opening a chest.
Rick: Yeah, 10)right no harm ever came from reading a book, you remember how that one went?
Evelyn: Oh come on, we can't stop now.
Rick: We'll just remember I was the voice of reason here.
Evelyn: For once. Oh my God!
Rick: It's a bit late for that, isn't it.
Evelyn: Put it in your 11)rucksack.
Rick: What gave you that idea? Let's leave it here.
Evelyn: I think it is a bit late for that.
Rick: What's it say?
Evelyn: (Reading the inscription) He who disturbs this bracelet shall drink from the Nile. Oh that doesn't sound too bad.
Scene 2:
Hamunaptra, City of the Dead.
Hafez has Imhotep dug out from the crave, hoping to control the Scorpion King with his power. They want to rob the bracelet.
Meela: My dear Hafez, I told you I should have handled it.
Hafez: I did not want your past history to cloud it with you.
Men: Don't you worry now, we know where it is we'll take care of it.
Hafez: NO! We'll take care of it. I have a different 12)chore for you now.
Meela: Where is the bracelet?
Men: It's on its way to merry old London.
Hafez: Then London is where we must go.
Scene 3:
London, Britain.
Rick and Evelyn bring the bracelet home.
Evelyn: I think the bracelet is some sort of guide, the lost oasis of Ahm Shere.
Rick: Evy, I know what you are thinking and the answer is no. We just got home.
Evelyn: That's the beauty of it. We're already packed.
Rick: Why is this? Give me one good reason.
Evelyn: It's just an oasis, darling, beautiful, exciting, romantic oasis.
Rick: The kind with a white sandy beach and palm trees and cool, clear blue water and we get ourselves those big drinks with the umbrellas.
Evelyn: Sounds good.
Rick: Sounds too good. What's the 13)catch?
Evelyn: Supposedly it's the resting place of Anubis' army.
Rick: Uh, you see, I knew there was a catch. There's always a catch. How did I know that? Let me guess. It was commanded by this Scorpion King guy?
Evelyn: Yes. But the only way it can work is to 14)revive every 5,000 years.
Rick: Right, and if someone doesn't kill him, then he's going to wipe out the world.
Evelyn: How did you know?
Rick: I didn't, but that's always the story.
Evelyn: The last known expedition to actually reach Ahm Shere was sent by Remises the fourth, more than three thousand years ago who sent over a thousand men.
Rick: None of them was ever seen again.
Evelyn: How did you know?
Rick: I didn't, but that's always the story.
Evelyn: Did I mention there was a pyramid of gold?
Rick: Twice.
Evelyn: 15)Alexandra the Great, sent troops in search of it.
Rick: Great for him.
Evelyn: So did Caesar.
Rick: Yeah and looked what happened to his career?
Evelyn: And 16)Napoleon.
Rick: Evy, we are smarter than him and taller.
Evelyn: Exactly that's why we're the ones who are going to find it.
Rick: Because we're taller?
Evelyn: That's why I love you.
Scene 4:
Hafez and his men sneak into Rick's house to find the bracelet.
(Jonathan just comes back from outside with his girlfriend.)
Jonathan: So then I killed the mummy and all his men stole his 17)scepter.
Woman: Oh you're so brave!
Jonathan: And rich, did I mention rich?
Woman: What do you think I'm doing here?
Jonathan: (Catching a look at the ruffians) Sorry we must be in the wrong house.
Woman: I thought you said this was your house.
Jonathan: No I didn't.
(He wants to run away, but has already been caught by the ruffians.)
Woman: Call me!
Jonathan: Ahha! You're not Schwa's Husband, are you?
Hafez: No.
Jonathan: If you work for Johnny I was going to pay him back on Tuesday.
Hafez: I don't know any Johnny. We are looking for the bracelet of Anubis.
Jonathan: Oh good, good for you good thing to have the old bracelet of Anubis.
Hafez: Where is it?
Jonathan: Ah you're looking here for the bracelet I see well... I have no idea what you are talking about.
Hafez: Mr. O'Connell you try my patience.
Jonathan: Mr. O'Connell... Wait! Hold on a minute! You got the wrong man... (One of the Ruffians puts a knife to his neck) Ah that bracelet yes of course now I remember I lost it in a card game.
Hafez: For your sake I hope not. (Finds the golden cane in Jonathan's hand) It can't be...
Meela: Hello.
Jonathan: Hello.
Meela: Where's your wife?
Jonathan: My wife...oh you mean Evy...well think she went off 18)Badendanall, Tibet or something. The girl's a free spirit. Did I mention I was single now?
(Meela takes out a viper to threaten Jonathan.)
Meela: Egyptian 19)asps are quite poisonous.
Jonathan: It's downstairs there's a 20)safe... the combination is uh.. uh 3, 20, 58, 393 something. It's in the safe downstairs. I told you. I told you!
Meela: And your point is...
Jonathan: My point is, I told you so you wouldn't kill me.

Scene 5:
Hafez and his men kidnapped Evelyn. Rick and others hurry to the British Museum to save her.
Alex: Dad! Guys.
Rick: Oh. Are you alright?
Alex: Yeah.
Bay: O'Connell.
Rick: What the hell are you doing here?
Bay: Scratch that I don't care...
Rick: Who the hell are those guys, and where are they taking my wife?
Bay: My friend, I am not sure... (Takes out a picture) but wherever this man is, your wife will surely be.
Alex: Hey, I know him, he's the 21)curator. He works at the British Museum.
Bay: Are you sure?
Rick: You better believe him, he spends more time there than he does at home. O.K you're here, the bad guys are here, Evy's been kidnapped let me guess.
Bay: Yes, they want to again removed 22)the creature from his grave.
Jonathan: I don't mean to point finger, but isn't it your job to make sure that doesn't happen?
Bay: 23)The woman who is with him, she knows things, things that no living person could possibly know. She knew exactly where the creature was buried. We were hoping she would lead us to the bracelet, she obviously did. And now they have it.
Alex: I wouldn't get too nervous just yet.
(He pushes up his sleeve and shows everyone the bracelet around his wrist.)。
Jonathan: Is that gold?
Alex: When I stuck it on I saw the pyramids of Giza, and 24)whoosh stretch across the desert to Karnack.
Bay: And put in a Sunny that started a chain reaction that could bring about the next 25)apocalypse.
Rick: (To Bay) You, lighten up. (To Alex)You, big trouble. (To Jonathan)You, get in the car.
(The four get in a car.)
Bay: I'm sorry if I alarmed your son, but you must understand now that the bracelet is on his wrist, we have only seven days before the Scorpion King awakens.
Rick: We? What we?
Bay: If he is not killed, he will raise the army of Anubis.
Jonathan: I take it that's not a good thing.
Rick: Oh he'll wipe out the world.
Jonathan: Oh he'll wipe out the world. 26)Boy!
Bay: Whomever can kill the Scorpion King can send his army back to the 27)underworld, or use it to destroy mankind and rule the earth.
Rick: So that's why they dug up Imhotep, cause he's the only guy tough enough to 28)take out the Scorpion King.
Bay: That is their plan.
(They arrive at the Britain Museum.)
Rick: Alright Alex I got a big job for you, I want you to stay here and protect the car.
Jonathan: I can do that.
Alex: Protect the car? Come on Dad, just because I'm a kid doesn't mean I'm stupid!
Rick: I know.
Alex: Dad.
Jonathan: If you see anyone come running out screaming, it's just me.
Rick: Maybe you should stay here and watch Alex.
Jonathan: Yes now you're talking.
Rick: You want the 29)shotgun?
Bay: No I prefer the 30)Thompson. (He catches a look of the mark on Rick's arm.) If I were to say to you I'm a stranger traveling from the east seeking that which is lost.
Rick: Then I would reply that I am a stranger traveling from the west that is I whom you seek.
Bay: And it is true. You have the sacred mark.
Rick: Oh that? No. I got 31)slapped on me when I was an orphanage in Cairo.
Bay: That mark means you are a protector of man, a warrior for God, a 32)Magi.
Rick: Sorry the wrong guy.
Scene 6:
Egypt.
Imhotep kidnaps Alex who has the Scorpion King's bracelet. Rick turned to Izzy to help them to the lost Ahm Shere with a baloon.
Evelyn: This is the magic carpet?
Rick: It will be fine, he's a professional. Izzy!
Izzy: No!
(Izzy looks at Rick just like he's seen a ghost. He turns back and runs away immediately.)
Rick: Hey!
Evelyn: He definitely remembers you.
Rick: He's a little shy. Jonathan, get our bags.
Jonathan: Oh, my hands are full.
Rick: Now!
Jonathan: Right. I'll get our bags.
Rick: I'll get the flight details.
(Rick opens the door with a gun.)
Evelyn: Honey you are not a subtle man.
Rick: We don't have time for subtle.
Evelyn: He doesn't look happy to see you.
Rick: Never turned me down yet.
Izzy: Whatever it is, whatever you need... I don't care. Forget it O'Connell. Every time I 33)hook up with you, I get shot. Last time I got shot on the 34)ass. I'm in mourning for my ass. You remember the bank job in Marrakech?
Evelyn: Bank jobs?
Rick: It's not like how it sounds.
Izzy: Oh. It's exactly how it sounds. I'm flying high, hiding in the sun. The white boy here flag me down, so I fly in low for the pick up. The next thing you know, I get shot! I'm lying in the middle of the road and my 35)spleen hanging out and I see him waltzing ring up with some belly dancer girl.
Evelyn: Belly dancer girl? Izzy I think you and I should talk.
Izzy: As long as I don't get shot.
Rick: Quit your 36)whining. You're gonna get paid this time.
Izzy: O'Connell you look around here for any... what do I need money for, what the hell am I going to spend it on?
Rick: let me keep this short, my little boy's out there, I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get him back.
(Rick waves the golden cane before Izzy who is immediately caught up by it.)
Izzy: O'Connell, if you give me that gold stick there then you can shave my head, wax my legs and use me for a surfboard.
Rick: Didn't we do that in 37)Tripoli? (Looks at Izzy's black eyeshade) Say by the way,. when did lose your eye.
Izzy: Oh I didn't... I just thought it made me look more 38)dashing.

他的军队回到了沙漠中他们出发的地方，静静地等待被再次唤醒。
场景一：
1933年，埃及。
伊芙琳和里克带着八岁的儿子阿历克斯在探索神秘的埃及古墓。
伊芙琳（将一条毒蛇丢开）：滚开。
里克：你知道它们是有毒的。
伊芙琳：只是在它们咬你的时候。刚才你怎么了？

哈菲兹：我不想让你的过去妨碍了我们。
手下：你现在难道不担心吗？我们知道手镯在哪里，我们会找到的。
哈菲兹：不！我们来负责这件事。你们有另一项任务。
蜜娜：手镯在哪儿？
手下：他们正把它带回伦敦。
哈菲兹：我们也去伦敦。
场景三：
英国，伦敦。
里克和伊芙琳把手镯带回了家。
伊芙琳：我觉得这只手镯是一个向导，导向消失的阿姆希尔绿洲。

里克：你究竟在这里做些什么？
贝：是那些人，我才不管……
里克：那些人是谁？他们把我的妻子带到那里去？
贝：我的朋友，我不知道。（拿出一张画像）但无论这个人在哪里，你妻子一定在他手里。
阿里克斯：嗨，我认识他，他是大英博物馆馆长。
贝：你确定吗？
里克：你最好相信他，他在那儿消磨的时间可比在家的时间多。好吧。你在这儿，坏蛋在这儿，伊芙被绑架了，我说得没错吧？
贝：是的，他们又把那家伙从坟墓里挖了出来。

里克：（对贝）你，放轻松些。（对亚历克斯）你，是个捣蛋鬼。（对乔纳森）你，上车。
（四人上了车。）
贝：如果我吓着了你的孩子，请原谅我。但我们必须明确一点，手镯已戴在他的手腕上，在蝎子王苏醒之前我们只有七天时间。
里克：我们？什么我们？
贝：如果蝎子王不死，他就会唤醒阿奴比斯的整个军队。
乔纳森：我觉得这不是什么好事。

埃及。
印何泰绑架了戴有蝎子王的手镯的阿里克斯。里克来求助好友伊兹，请他用热气球带他们去消失的阿姆希尔绿洲。
伊芙琳：这就是你的魔毯？
里克：没事的。他是一个专家。伊兹！
伊兹：不。
（伊兹见到里克像见到鬼一样，转身就跑。）
里克：嗨！
伊芙琳：他肯定记得你。
里克：他有些害羞。乔纳森，去把我们的行李拿来。
乔纳森：噢，我腾不出手来。
里克：快去！
乔纳森：好吧，我这就去拿行李。
里克：我来落实一下飞行细节。
（里克开抢把门锁打开。）
伊芙琳：亲爱的，你真不是一个体贴的人。

伊芙琳：看到你他很不高兴。

（里克把金杖在伊兹面前挥了挥，伊兹立刻被吸引住了。）
